Steel City Improv Theater excited to have Educator, Facilitator and Performer Aaron Crutchfield to lead their Kids and Teens Improv Program
PITTSBURGH, PA (July 24, 2025) – Steel City Improv Theater (SCIT) is excited to announce that Aaron Crutchfield—a seasoned educator, performer, and corporate trainer—will lead the theater’s Kids and Teens Improv Program beginning this fall.
With more than 20 years of experience in both the classroom and on stage, Crutchfield brings a unique blend of warmth, structure, and creativity to his work with young performers. A former lead arts instructor at the Charles River School, Crutchfield developed and led innovative programming for over a decade, while also contributing to the school’s outreach and diversity efforts.
His improv journey began at ImprovBoston, where he served as Assistant Artistic Director and helped launch the theater’s corporate training division. He went on to perform with Dramaworks, a company that brought improvisational techniques into the workplace for major clients like IBM and Oxford Bioscience.
Since 2014, Crutchfield has been a performer, coach, and corporate facilitator at SCIT, where he’s known for his thoughtful teaching style and ability to adapt improv principles to learners of all ages. His extensive educational background and experience in youth engagement make him an ideal leader for SCIT’s growing youth program.
“We’re thrilled to have Aaron guiding our next generation of improvisers,” said SCIT’s leadership. “He creates a space where kids and teens feel seen, challenged, and celebrated.”
Youth classes begin in September. Registration is open now: steelcityimprov.com/kids-and-teens
