SNL and Key & Peele Writer Rich Talarico Brings “6 Questions Improv Intensive” to Pittsburgh This October
PITTSBURGH, PA (August 20, 2025) – Steel City Improv Theater and Ellsworth Arts & Event Space are proud to present a rare opportunity for improvisers in the Pittsburgh Region: a weekend intensive with Emmy-nominated writer and acclaimed improviser Rich Talarico, October 18–19, 2025.
Talarico, best known for his writing on Key & Peele (including the iconic “Substitute Teacher” sketch), Saturday Night Live, MADtv, and The Tonight Show, will teach his highly sought-after workshop, “The 6 Questions of Improv.” The intensive is designed to help performers build stronger, funnier, more sustainable scenes—faster.
What makes a great scene? How do you follow the fun? And what actually is the game of the scene? Talarico answers these questions with clarity, structure, and decades of stage and writing room experience.

About Rich Talarico
Rich Talarico is a Peabody Award–winning and Emmy-nominated writer with deep roots in improv. He studied and performed at The Second City and iO. He performs with of the long-running improv group Dasariski. He has taught thousands of students around the world, helping them unlock scenes that are bold, truthful, and hilarious.
