James Dugan was born and raised in Northern California, but moved to Chicago to pursue improv comedy and to learn what this “winter” thing is that everyone has been talking about. In his years in Chicago, he has performed with numerous Harold Teams at iO, taken to the high seas with The Second City, and was a member of TJ and Dave’s Mission Theater ensemble. Outside of Chicago he has been featured at festivals in Austin, St. Louis, New York, and Juneau. He teaches at iO Chicago as well as The Chicago Improv Den, and coaches several teams in the Chicago area.
Hailing from Chicago, Gretchen primarily performs at the iO Theater with the Harold Team Devil’s Daughter and The Armando Diaz Experience- which she also produces, along with the Teacher/Student Jam. She is an adjunct at Roosevelt University and has taught workshops for a wide array of groups, including Cambridge Footlights International Touring Company in the U.K., the 16th Annual Würzburger Improtheaterfestival, and the Barcelona Improv Group’s BIG IF 5. Having performed in Chicago for over 12 years, Gretchen coaches, leads workshops for artists and corporate groups, improvises on a near-nightly basis, and teaches Levels 1-3 of the iO Training Center curriculum (along with the International Summer Intensive).
