Lead By: Devil’s Daughter – Brad Pike, Mary Tilden, and Rachel Smith
Date and Time: Saturday, September 21, 10AM-1PM
Location: Drury Plaza Hotel Conference Room
This workshop will break down the building blocks of a great sketch comedy scene and allow students to explore ideas through improv before putting them down on the page. This class is an exciting opportunity to stretch your improv muscles and your writing muscles all in one. By the end of the class, each student should walk away with 1-2 characters or scenes they feel confident sharing with an audience.
Brad Pike performs on the Harold team Devil’s Daughter and writes for the iO Comedy Network. He’s also written and produced numerous shows including Camp Psychopathways, Blocked, and The Campfire.
Mary Tilden is an actor, writer and comedian originally from South Carolina. She currently lives and works in Chicago where she has acted in several plays (most recently The Wolves at The Goodman Theatre) and written and produced several of her own Sketch Shows and storytelling events. She also can be seen doing stand-up at variety shows throughout the city. She improvises weekly with her Harold team Devil’s Daughter at iO Chicago.
Rachel Smith is a writer and performer living in Chicago (and just saw her first Pirates game at PNC Park)! She can be seen at iO Chicago performing regularly with Devil’s Daughter, Virgin Daiquiri, and Dreamboat, an all-queer group of which she also co-produces.
Early registration ends September 6th
