Here are additional in-person class policies for July 2020 to December 2020. These policies are subject to change. Those involved in classes will be notified of any changes. These are in addition to our regular SCIT Code of Conduct and Class Enrollment Policy.
- All classes will take place in the theater. Only the theater proper and restrooms will be in use. The lobby and backstage area will not be used during the classes. The emergency exit doors will be propped open and the backstage window will be open for fresh air and better ventilation. Also the HVAC fan will be on as well and new filters will be replaced every 30 days or earlier as needed.
- All classes will be limited to 10 participants and 2 instructors.
- All participants must wear a mask/face covers properly when inside the theater. Proper face covers must cover their nose and mouth. See photo below. If you need a break at any time, you may exit the theater.
- All participants will have their temperature taken by a staff member trained to do so using a Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer. Anyone with a temperature over 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit will not be permitted and will be contacted by the education department via email.
- All participants will be asked to remain physically distant during classes and while inside the theater. Exercises will be adjusted to avoid physical touch.
- All surfaces will be cleaned in the theater and restrooms before and after by a staff member wearing gloves and a mask and using disinfectants with clean or disposable towels.
- All staff and participants will be asked to maintain good hygiene by washing hands and using hand sanitizer which will be plentiful in the theater.
- There will no longer be water jugs available at the theater. Please bring your own water bottle.
- Our attendance policy will remain the same (must attend 6 of the 8 classes to graduate to the next level), however, anyone with a higher than normal temperature or any other symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to not attend class. Please email classes{at}steelcityimprov{dot}com if you are sick and we will provide credits and other options on a case by case basis.
- Office Hours (socializing at a nearby restaurant) will be postponed for the remainder of the year. However instructors will allow time at the end of class for participants to ask questions and talk while maintaining physical distancing.
