24 hour telethon begins Friday, September 18th at 7:30PM
By now you may have heard the news that SCIT is on its way to becoming a 501c3. If you haven’t heard the news – we’re here to catch you up! The SCIT team is working to develop programming that will use core principals of improv to improve communication skills for many different communities & audiences.
We have always believed that improv was more than performance art. It’s a way to help people communicate, understand each other, listen, and grow. All things that we could use more of in this crazy world.
In order for us to develop community programming & education, we’ll need your help. On Friday, September 18th at 7:30PM we will be hosting the “S.O.S. 24 Hour Telethon.” A fundraiser that will go toward keeping the SCIT operating for the next year.
We are raising this money to keep our space and our community together during these challenging times. We are hoping to raise $24,946.36 for rent and utilities from now until the end of 2021.
For 24 hours beginning the evening of Friday, September 18 we will present a telethon the likes have never been seen and will never be seen again. The event will be streamed LIVE on our twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/steelcityimprovtheater
2020 has been tough on so many industries. We know that not everyone will be able to help, but we appreciate any help we receive! We’ll see you at the telethon!
Along with the telethon we are hosting an online auction! The online auction is comprised of items donated by SCITizens and yinzers from across the city. We have items such as gift baskets full of craft beer, original artwork created by SCITizens, lessons on how to dance confidently, entire personalized musicals, consultations with professionals around the city, & MORE!
Click the link below to check out the auction! Bidding ends on the 18th!
