Ayne started her improv career as one of the founding members of Scotch ‘n’ Soda’s No Parking Players. Under this umbrella she served as Business Manager, directed two long-form improv shows, and invented a much-beloved warm-up game before embarking on an over-long improv hiatus. Ayne now performs alongside several of Pittsburgh’s most talented improvisers as part of the Steel City Improv Theater in Shadyside and the Arcade Comedy Theater downtown.
Since the founding of the SCIT, she has performed regularly as part of SCIT House Teams, as well as independent teams such as the all-female team Blue Stocking Babes, macabre theatrical troupe Nebby Spectres, and musical troupe Wunderstudies. She is proud to have taken these acts to national festivals in both New York and Chicago. Ayne has used her background in improv to participate in two immersive theatrical experiences: Bricolage’s STRATA, an immersive urban adventure and an immersive one-on-one horror experience (Scarehouse Secrets) for Scarehouse Productions.
In addition to performing, Ayne now regularly coaches several teams thanks to the tutelage of the SCIT instructors, Kristy Nolen (iOWest) and Jason Specland (PIT). She has also had opportunities to study with Will Hines (UCB), Matt Donnelly (PIT/Upright Citizens Brigade), Chris Grace (PIT), Liz Quinn (PIT), Kareem Badr (Hideout), Paul Grondy (iO), Jet Eveleth (iO, Second City), Kristen Shier (PhIT), and Susan Messing (Annoyance) among others
